About Me

Scott and me at the cloud forest reforestation site

I’m Judy Pollock, Director of Bird Conservation for Audubon Chicago Region and founding president of the Bird Conservation Network, a Chicago area all-volunteer organization dedicated to citizen-led bird conservation. I visited Alta Verapaz, Guatemala with my husband Scott in September 2011.  We were lucky enough to be invited to learn about the work of Rob and Tara Cahill with Community Cloud Forest Conservation.  They are saving a vanishing habitat that is absolutely crucial to the survival of many of the birds we enjoy in the Chicago area, and their dedication, generosity and creativity touched us both. I hope to be able to help them take advantage of the opportunity they have to reforest 100 acres of this important habitat.

Scott and I have long been interested in Guatemalan human rights, and were excited to return to the country.  Scott took all these photos, except as noted.

This is my first attempt to make a web page!
